Eagle – two strokes under par for a single hole. To play a hole at 2 under par.
Equipment – according to the RoG it is anything used, worn or carried by a player
European Golf Association (EGA) – it administrates all European golf tournaments and approves its calendar of events and the rules of golf
Exclusive golf course –a short golf course comprised of various combinations of many par-3s plus a small number of par-4s plus a 5s. An exclusive course is designed to be played quickly by the player who does not have a lot of time (a business executive sneaking out for some quick golf, for instance)
Explode – to hit the ball from sand using a sleepy lofted club with the club hitting into the sand behind the ball spraying a large amount of sand thus sending the ball on the green
Extra hole – a hole played to break a tie
Face – The heating area of the club heat
Fade - A term used to describe the slight turning of the ball from left to right (by a right-handed player) at the end if its flight and from and from right to left for left-handed player.
Fail – an unsuccessful shot
Fairway (FL) – the area of the course between the tee and the green with well-maintained grass cut at a height of 12mm to 33mm
Fan – To miss the ball completely
Fat shot – When the club hits the ground behind the ball. This results in high or low shots with a loss of distance.
Flag competition - a kind of stroke play game in witch each player has a flag. When the player has played the number of strokes equal to par of his course plus his handicap, he places the flag in the course at that point. The winner is the player who goes farthest around the course with the allotted number of strokes.
Flagstick – A movable marker the show the location of the hole
Flange – The additional surface of the club heat witch protrudes of the sole
Flash trap – a shallow and small sand bunker
Flier – a ball hit without spin. It goes for a greater distance during the flight stage
Flight paths – the ball’s flight trajectory
Flip shot – a shot played with a high trajectory with a highly lofted iron such as an eight or nine iron
Flop shot – a high delicate shot with high trajectory and at a short distance
Flub – a poorly hit shot usually caused by hitting the ground before the ball
Fluff – a shot where the head hits the earth behind the ball and it moves only slightly forward
Fore – a warning shouted out to warn anyone who may be in danger from the flight of the ball
Foregreen – the area before the green
Four-jack / Fourput – to get the ball in the hall with four putting shots
Fried egg – A ball half-buried in the sand
Front side (nine) – the first nine holes of an 18 hole course
